Founded in 1963 in an old three storeyed silk spinning mill, the Cevenol museum charts the evolution of the people of the Cevennes : from its very first inhabitants to the present day. Pottery, wood, stone, wool and silk were the driving force of both the cottage and main industries in the southern Cevennes.

From professions to fine arts there are also exhibitions based on Coco Chanel (1883-1971), Andre Chamson (1900-1983) and Robert Joly (1887-1968) who were originally from the Cevennes.

The museum is welcoming and accessible. Not only is there a rich collection of artefacts, your visit also gives you a real taste of how life has been lived in the Cevennes throughout the centuries.
See you soon...
